After the wonderful news of receiving the Quality Enhancement Grants, my plan was to provide a full 1-2 day professional development day for my employees. One of my first thoughts was the work involved in organizing such a large event for up to 110 employees. Shortly after, an email circulated from Karen Kowalski at MCCA in regards to personalized professional development. The email was exactly at the right time and what I was looking for. I was so excited to touch base with Karen and start planning! To my delight, Karen was able to provide exactly what I was looking for. It was easy and I was truly impressed with the entire process. I let her know the topics I was interested in and the type of mini retreat I had in mind. All we did was show up, she organized every detail, including the amazing guest speakers, an agenda with times including a brief description of topics, hotel rooms and meals. Karen is a gem and I am so happy that I reached out to her. Any questions I had through the process, she was there for me. Our personalized Rainbow Day Nursery event was a huge success because of Karen’s hard work, knowledge and professionalism! Thank you Karen from all of us at Rainbow!!!

Professional Development at the center is a great experience and you can get it through MCCA!
We have been booking our professional development events from MCCA’s recommendations. This is a wonderful way of bringing your staff together and it is in a familiar and comfortable environment. I poll the staff members what they want to learn about. I then contact Karen Kowalski and let her know and within a week or so she has found someone to educate us on the subject the staff wanted. We order in dinner for the staff so they feel even more comfortable prior to the workshop starting. We have hired facilitators from other places but we always seem to get our best experience from the MCCA ones. I think that having Karen know the professional workshop environment is definitely an extreme asset for any centre. She is always so professional and insightful and saves me so much time by finding the workshops for our centres. It is also a very cost effective way to bring PD to your team. One of the workshops we booked was having Heather Erhard come out to do the Myers-Briggs for a Saturday and that was a great experience for all the staff members to learn about each other’s personality type. We even continued the education on this by meeting in small groups to become even better in understanding our team. We have benefited greatly for all the workshops we have been able to get from MCCA. It is also a strong team building time as we are all in the same workshop.

Working with Karen at MCCA to plan our “Together Again Celebration” dinner and professional development evening was phenomenal (as usual!). 55 of our educators as well as our board of directors enjoyed a fantastic evening; a delicious 3 course meal, connecting with each other in person and a very engaging and inspiring guest speaker. Karen listened to our ideas, was supportive and collaborative through the whole process. Her wealth of knowledge, experience and attention to detail really helped the evening come together. The beautiful venue, food, beverages, guest speaker and custom gift were just the basics of the professional services we received. Karen was there to bounce ideas off, to help plan the timing, and answer any (yes I mean any) question. Karen was present at the beginning of our evening to ensure everything came together and met her (and our) standards. MCCA is our go to for planning quality events for our amazing team of educators!
