Inclusion Facilitator

Winnipeg Montessori School is looking for a fun loving and energetic person to work as an additional support staff for a wonderful child in our preschool program. The ISF provides support while keeping with the Montessori environment. The ISF will work directly with a reporting teacher. Specific Responsibilities: a)Provide assistance in the classroom, consistent with and always promoting the Montessori method b) Modify lessons utilizing appropriate Montessori instructional methods based on the child’s abilities and needs. c) Working with the reporting teacher, identify areas of need and create long term and short term goals for the child d) Assist in maintaining order and organization of Montessori materials and environment e) Keep a detailed diary of child’s work, progress and challenges including input from both the reporting teacher and supporting staff f) Create and maintain an open dialogue with parents of special needs child g) Be available to meet with outside agencies as needed and to assist in developing goals for the Special needs child h) Attend appropriate professional development seminars or conferences to ensure current knowledge of Montessori learning methods, and/or child development principles i) Provide insight to reporting teacher with regards to child’s period of readiness and difficulties. Shift for this position is 8:45-4:45, Mon-Fri

Inclusion Support Facilitator experience working with preschool children. Experience working with children that have physical and developmental challenges an asset. Experience in a Montessori Setting is an asset, but not required.
