St. Germain Daycare Inc. is actively looking to hire an experienced Early Childhood Educator II or III for a school age supervisors position.

This would be a 7.5 hour shift working 930-530.

A start date for this position is for the middle of February with a training period. This position is for our offsite school age site located at 1212 Dakota Street. This is a roll away program inside Dakota Lawn Bowl with a team of 2 staff in the morning and 3 staff in the afternoon. Currently we have 20 children grades 1-5. We have a 15 passenger centre van the School age Supervisor drives the children to and from school daily.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • driving the centre van to and from school daily
  • assist management team with staffing schedules
  • input subsidy information for schoolage
  • purchasing items for the program
  • programming for school age children
  • supervision and mentoring of staff
  • maintain relationships with families of the Southside program
  • be a liaison with Dakota Lawn Bowl and the Management staff team
  • works well with other professionals that may be involved in the centre
  • maintain record keeping
Eligible Candidates

Job Requirements

  • Early Childhood Educator II or III classification
  • Experience working in child care setting with schoolage
  • Clear Criminal Records Check/ Child Abuse Registry/Vulnerable Sector
  • Current up to date First Aid/CPR or willing to update immediately

The eligible candidate will possess the following skills:

  • excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • organizational skills
  • knowledge of ELCC Best Practices Licensing Manual
  • hold a Class 5 license in good standing with willingness to obtain a Class 4 license to drive the centre van (centre will pay for this)
  • works well in a team environment yet independent when required
  • flexibility-ability to change things when required
  • strong behavior management skills/conflict resolution skills
  • ability to problem solve when required
