Assistant Director

Job Description:

St Andrews Child Care Inc. is a dual site facility. We are located north of the perimeter (5-15 minutes from North Main Street) in the West St Paul and St Andrews communities.

We are looking for a passionate Early Childhood Educator II/III to join our management team for a one year term position, in the role of Assistant Director. We ask that potential candidates possess the following:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Early Childhood Educator II/III Certificate
-Minimum of two years experience working in the field of childcare in a management role.
-Specialization in Program Management is an Asset.
-Current Criminal Record and Child Abuse Checks
-Current CPR and First Aid
-Knowledge of Circle of Security
-Someone who is outgoing, self-motivated, takes initiative to create positive change, works with minimal supervision and has strong leadership skills.
-Working in partnership with the Executive Director regarding the daily operations of the centre and overseeing areas such as the team of educators, children, families, health and safety and administrative tasks designated by Executive Director.
-Display Professional Demeanour and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and our team of educators.
-Manage and coordinate with our team of educators in a positive manner, leading by example while providing continual support as you inspire, enable, and encourage individual and team growth.
-Be skilled at multitasking and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
-The ability to maintain consistency with policies, behaviour management, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
-Acting as the designated alternate to the Executive Director in their absence.
-The ability to encourage and facilitate others in positive decision-making skills.
-Have transportation to and from our facility as we are not on a bus route.
