If you are looking to grow, learn and maximize your skills, we have the place for you. Roblin Park Children’s Programs is hiring a Pedagogical Lead. We are located in beautiful Charleswood and offer quality care and education to children age 2 to 12 through a variety of programs.

Job Summary:
The Pedagogical Lead plays a critical role in shaping the educational direction and quality of the early learning and childcare setting. This position is responsible for leading curriculum development, fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning environment, and providing mentorship and professional development for educators. The Pedagogical Lead ensures that the educational practices align with the latest research in early childhood education and adhere to regulatory standards. Through this journey, the Pedagogical Lead will strengthen their own knowledge and understanding of pedagogical best practices in the Early Years. Maintaining a growth mindset and ongoing commitment to professional learning and growth will be essential. They will report to and work in partnership with the Executive Director further strengthening our management team and organization overall.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development and Implementation:
– Design, implement, and evaluate a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all children.
– Integrate a play-based learning approach that encourages curiosity, exploration, and creativity.
– Ensure the curriculum reflects diversity, inclusivity, and the cultural backgrounds of the children.

2. Professional Development and Support:
– Provide ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to early childhood educators to enhance their teaching practices.
– Organize and assist in leading professional development workshops and seminars for our educators.
– Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice among educators.

3. Leadership and Management:
– Lead and inspire the educational team to deliver high-quality early childhood education.
– Collaborate with the Director and other leaders to set strategic goals and objectives for the learning center.
– Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and new initiatives.

4. Quality Assurance:
– Monitor and assess the effectiveness of educational programs through observations and evaluations.
– Ensure compliance with provincial regulations related to early childhood education.
– Implement and maintain best practices for child safety, health, and well-being.

5. Family and Community Engagement:
– Foster strong partnerships with families, encouraging their involvement in their child’s education.
– Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child’s progress and development.
– Build connections with the local community and other early childhood education professionals.

6. Research and Innovation:
– Stay current with the latest research and trends in early childhood education.
– Introduce innovative educational approaches and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
– Conduct or participate in research projects related to early childhood pedagogy.
– Attend pedagogical focused workshops including networking opportunities.

Eligible Candidates

Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Educator II or III classification within the province of Manitoba
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood curriculum development and pedagogical theories.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a team of educators.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Valid first aid and CPR level C classification.
- Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Circle of Security training an asset
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry children and equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of participating in physical activities with children.
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods.

Please note our building has stairs leading to both the preschool and kindergarten classrooms.

 

Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events or training sessions.
- Engage with educators and children outside in a variety of weather conditions

Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting wage is $25.05. This position is for 40 hours weekly
- Ongoing support and professional development opportunities
-  Team lunches, coffee, bonus paid days off including an annual bonus paid out in December.
-  Weekly team meetings and daily program planning during regular work hours
- 50/50 cost shared dental and health benefits
- 4% pension contribution matching
- 4% vacation accrual during the first year, 6% after year two.
- 1 additional bonus paid week off annually at the end of August
- 2 metal health days and 12 paid sick days annually
