ECE II/III

Early Childhood Educator

Legacy Children’s Centre offers an inclusive environment and is seeking a motivated Early Childhood Educator ll to fill a maternity position for up to 18 months, with a start date as soon as possible.

A successful ECE II at our centre is expected to:

understand the areas from which the program draws inspiration, particularly child inspired play-based learning.
participate in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of a developmentally appropriate program.
observe children’s emerging interests and provide research-based opportunities and materials.
mentor and guide staff to meet their fullest potential.
be comfortable upholding the values and beliefs of the centre and our partnership with Heartland Community Church  (see website).
We offer a play-based approach to learning with a focus on the great outdoors and have recently completed work on an amazing outdoor natural play space, as you can view on our website and our Facebook page.

Eligible Candidates

A successful candidate will require:

a classification (ECE ll) from the Province of Manitoba
current first aid and CPR certification
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Persons
Child Abuse Registry Check
familiarity with Circle of Security philosophy (considered an asset but not required)
an ability to take initiative and think outside the box
a desire to be part of a small team environment
a love of laughter:)
