Aleph-Bet Child Life Enrichment Program Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to fulfill the role of Program Leader. This is a full time, split shift position which offers candidates the opportunity to exercise their skills in program planning and development, mentorship, delegation, task and human resource management. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Early Childhood Educators in creating a dynamic program reflective of the interests of both preschool and school age children. Hours – Split Shift - 7:15-8:30 / 11:30-5:15 (Work for 7 hours get paid for 8 hours)
The Ideal Candidate Is
The ideal candidate will have the following:
-at least 2 years experience in a leadership role
-a genuine love for children and teaching
-ECE II or III certification
-Commit to Kids certification
-trained in Circle of Security
-current First Aid/CPR Level C certificate
-clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search-dated within the last three months
-clear child abuse registry check dated within the last three months
-experience in leading and mentoring staff, students, and volunteers to ensure quality programming and performance
-the ability to provide daily feedback to staff and conduct staff performance reviews
-the ability to provide support to students, volunteers, mentors, and instructors
-the ability to maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for children, families, and staff
-energy, be well organized, and self motivated
-the ability to make decisions and follow through
-the ability to delegate and follow up
-the ability to provide age-appropriate experiences for children age 2-12
-the ability to research, learn, teach, and present new and current teaching and programming approaches to staff
-strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals and children (families, therapists, and other professionals)
-the ability to foster a collaborative and professional work environment
-knowledge of the licensing manual and its requirements
-the ability to role model and ensure the understanding and follow through of all centre policies and procedures
-the ability to perform administrative duties such as objective performance appraisals on educators and scheduling
-the ability to problem solve and effectively manage conflict
