Full Description
This role is ideal for someone who believes that inclusion is essential, values collaboration, and is committed to supporting children’s emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where all children—especially those with additional support needs—can fully participate and thrive
- Support and implement Individual Program Plans (IPPs) by adapting activities, routines, and environments to meet each child’s developmental needs and strengths
- Collaborate closely with Early Childhood Educators, families, and external professionals to ensure consistent, responsive, and inclusive support
- Promote children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play-based, developmentally appropriate, and engaging experiences
- Observe, document, and reflect on children’s development to continuously adjust strategies and remove barriers to inclusion
Other duties may be assigned by the Executive Director or Supervisors to support the overall operation of the Center.

Required / Willing to Obtain
- Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check
- Child Care Assistant Classification (Province of Manitoba)
- Mandatory 40-hour Child Care Course (or willingness to complete within required timelines)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (age-appropriate)
- Participation in at least 24 hours of professional development annually
Experience & Skills
- Experience working with children in an early learning or child care environment, including supporting children with diverse abilities and needs
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and the ability to support inclusive, play-based, and developmentally appropriate programming
- Ability to adapt activities, environments, and routines to remove barriers to inclusion and support individual learning styles and strengths
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, educators, and community professionals
- Strong problem-solving, flexibility, and self-management skills, with the ability to remain calm and responsive in a dynamic environment
- Commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, confidentiality, and ongoing learning in inclusive early childhood education
