Dawn and Dusk Before and After School Program is a 100-space licensed child care centre looking for a ECE II to join our team in a Team Leader Role.

Dawn and Dusk is located in John de Graff School, in North Kildonan.

Working at Dawn and Dusk means you will be part of an inspired team that develops their program based on the emerging interests of the children, welcomes inclusion and diversity, and values outdoor play.

 

The position is a split shift, with the Team Leader working 7.5 hrs per day, and in addition, be paid a .5 hr split shift incentive premium, for a total of 8 hours paid. 

 

The candidate must be available M-F, between the hours of 6:45am – 6:00pm. An example of a daily shift could be:

6:45 – 9:30am and 1:15 – 6:00pm 

or 

6:45 - 10:30am and 2:15-6pm

 

The wage for this position starts at $29.06/hr.

 

Key responsibilities of the Team Leader include:

-mentoring educators in the daily program, including providing regular feedback

-monitoring performance and addressing performance issues

-providing support to educators in conflict resolution, and positive guidance

-conducting team meetings 

-building and maintaining relationships with our families, the school, professionals and community members

-maintaining a high level of professionalism, including upholding confidentiality

-participating in professional development to keep current in the field of Early Learning and Child Care

The Ideal Candidate Is

The ideal candidate will:

-have a Province of Manitoba ECE II Certificate

-have a clear child abuse registry check and a clear criminal record w/ vulnerable persons

-have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate

-have knowledge of ELCC Regulations

-have knowledge of current practices and trends in Early Learning and Child Care

-have proven leadership abilities and conflict resolution skills

-have strong communication skills, both written and verbal

-have strong behaviour management skills

-have the ability to complete written documentation for families and professionals

-have knowledge and experience in emergent curriculum

-have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines 

-have the ability to show initiative

-have a team-oriented attitude

-be able to work in a fast-paced environment
-have Commit to Kids and Circle of Security training or willing to obtain

-have a love for outdoor play

 

Supervisory experience in the Early Learning and Child Care field is as asset.
