Full Description

Key Responsibilities
● Oversee daily operations of the childcare center
● Recruit, interview, hire, and supervise staff
● Develop and maintain confidential staff and client files
● Maintain childcare waitlists according to enrollment guidelines
● Prepare weekly staff schedules based on enrollment
● Ensure staff training, certification, and qualification compliance
● Submit employee hours to payroll and track benefits, sick time, and vacation
● Track and report funding related to employee wages (wage subsidy and wage
enhancement)
● Monitor and record child enrollment and attendance numbers
● Communicate effectively with parents (billing, orientations, weather closures, fee
changes, etc.)
● Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings
● Ensure Board awareness of current and emerging childcare and employment legislation
● Monitor budgets and liaise with the Board and accountant to ensure responsible financial
management
● Stay current with reporting requirements related to operational funding and staffing levels

Required Qualifications
● ECE III Program Management Degree or ECE II Diploma
● Current Police Reference Check, including Child Abuse Registry Check
● Valid First Aid and CPR certification

Preferred Skills & Experience
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
● Knowledge of the Fastoche system (an asset, not required)
● Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Professional judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
● Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
● Ability to work independently in a small office environment
