Full Description
Harstone Children's Centre, located in Winnipeg’s vibrant West End, is seeking an ECE II to join our energetic and engaging school-age summer program at our 905 Sargent Ave location.
This position is to begin mid may - to end of august. Possibility of a full-time position in the fall for the right candidate.
This summer promises plenty of fun, with weekly field trips and tons of outdoor adventures planned!
This is a full-time position 8:00 - 5:00.
This would be an ideal position for someone who works in the school division or who's program is closed for the summer. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children and a strong desire to support their growth and development in a safe and nurturing environment.
The Ideal Candidate Is
Candidate must be flexible and willing to work in any age group at any of our 6 locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing daily activities for school age children
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Provide compassionate attentive care to children.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and co-workers.
- Maintain a clean, organized and stimulating environment.
- Be a supportive team member who is able to collaborate and work with other team members to achieve program goals.
Candidates must have or obtain the following:
- Child Abuse (with vulnerable sector search) and Criminal Record Check (valid within the last 3 months)
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- ECE II Certification from the province of Manitoba (would consider ECE II in training)
- Experience in childcare in Manitoba is an asset
- Proficiency in written and verbal English
- Ability to lift push and pull up to 50 pounds
