Full Description
As an ECE II or III, you'll create nurturing, culturally responsive spaces where children don't just grow—they flourish. You'll design experiences that honor each child's unique background and abilities while building authentic partnerships with families. This isn't a job where you simply supervise—you'll mentor, lead, advocate, and make lasting impact. You may also guide Child Care Assistants, students, and volunteers.
What You'll Do
- Create engaging environments that celebrate diversity through materials, programming, and daily practices reflecting all cultures including First Nations, newcomers, and other communities
- Support whole-child development through STEAM activities, nature-based learning, literacy, creative expression, and social-emotional skill-building
- Build family partnerships using digital platforms, acting as cultural mediator, and connecting families with community resources
- Practice inclusion and anti-bias education by interrupting bias, supporting first languages, adapting for diverse abilities, and ensuring every child belongs

Lead and mentor Child Care Assistants and students while maintaining documentation and contributing to program quality
The Ideal Candidate Is
Requirements: ECE II or III certification with current MELCC Classification | Current First Aid/CPR | Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and Child Abuse Registry Check | C2K training and Accessibility Training | 120 hours PD over 5 years | Ability to lift 40 lbs. and engage in floor-level activities
