Qualifications

• Manitoba Classified ECE II
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized university or college.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required

• Observe children in daily activities and provide emergent programming based on their interests, and developmental abilities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and management in a professional and productive manner on a regular and consistent basis.
• Communicate with the staff, children, and families of the centre, enjoy daily outdoor play, and provide both direct and indirect supervision to the children in the care.
• Multitask and adapt to changing priorities and daily routines.
• Extensive knowledge of child-centered curriculum approaches

Physical & Emotional Demands

• Actively engage with children and staff throughout the workday, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.
• Lift and carry equipment, and supplies as needed up to 40lbs.
• Maintain a high level of supervision, awareness, and attentiveness across the centre.
• Respond calmly and effectively during emergency or emotionally heightened situations.
• Support staff and children through challenging or high-stress situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
• Maintain emotional resilience, positive relationships, and professionalism throughout the day.
