North Kildonan Little Thinkers Inc. is a licensed, non-profit child care centre located at 71 B Burnett Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. We proudly serve the River East community and surrounding areas and operate 38 licensed preschool spaces for children ages 2 to 6 years.
We are currently seeking a passionate, experienced, and community-minded Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team.
This is a full-time term position beginning September 1, 2026, and ending March 31, 2027. The successful candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday between 7:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. The specific shift may vary depending on the operational needs of the centre and program.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Early Childhood Educator plays an important role in the day-to-day operation of the centre. The successful candidate will support and mentor educators while helping maintain a warm, inclusive, respectful, and child-centred environment that promotes children's development, confidence, creativity, and overall well-being.
The Ideal Candidate Is
Qualifications
- Manitoba Classified ECE II
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized university or college.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required

- Observe children in daily activities and provide emergent programming based on their interests, and developmental abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues and management in a professional and productive manner on a regular and consistent basis.
- Communicate with the staff, children, and families of the centre, enjoy daily outdoor play, and provide both direct and indirect supervision to the children in the care.
- Multitask and adapt to changing priorities and daily routines.
- Extensive knowledge of child-centered curriculum approaches
Physical & Emotional Demands
- Actively engage with children and staff throughout the workday, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Lift and carry equipment, and supplies as needed up to 40lbs.
- Maintain a high level of supervision, awareness, and attentiveness across the centre.
- Respond calmly and effectively during emergency or emotionally heightened situations.
- Support staff and children through challenging or high-stress situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
- Maintain emotional resilience, positive relationships, and professionalism throughout the day.
