Full Description
The position you will be working an 8.5 hour day, with a 1 hour lunchbreak, ½ of which is paid. You will also have a 15 minute coffee break.
Our West Kildonan location has five rooms set into age groups, totaling 74 children.
We have a separate private staff room for you to utilize you’re breaks, and space for planning.
SNS offers excellent Professional Development Days, fun staff events and overtime for staff meetings.
We believe in the benefits of being outside, so we spend a large amount of time in our 3 play yards, and being out in the community.
Our curriculum is all Emergent-based programing, as well as having Pedagogy components into our rooms. Sharing frequent documentation based on observations, learning stories, invitations to play with families, while using technology, is a value we provide. We want to show that learning is continuously happening from our educators.
The Ideal Candidate Is
We are looking for someone to join our fun, enthusiastic and innovate team. Some traits we are looking for in an individual, is energetic, flexible, nurturing and creative. You would be working in a room with toddlers and infants. Previous experience with this age would be most beneficial. This is a very busy age, but is also so rewarding with the milestones and self-help skills you get to be apart seeing accomplished. Clear verbal and written skills are needed for daily communication with your team, the children and their families. You would need to have some technology knowledge, as we also use it as part of communication, for reports, documentation and reminders to families.
You must have a clear criminal record check and child abuse registry.
Current First aid/CPR Certificate.
COS would be an asset
