The Cleaning & Ratio Support Staff (CCA) is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary child care environment while supporting educators in classrooms as required to maintain licensing ratios.
The position is 2:15pm-5:15pm Monday to Friday (15 hours weekly).
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Primary responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and disinfecting classrooms, washrooms, and common areas.
- Sanitizing toys, tables, chairs, cots, learning materials, and high-touch surfaces.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining floors.
- Emptying diaper bins, garbage and recycling and replacing liners.
- Restocking paper products, soap, and other supplies.
- Completing laundry, including face cloths, towels, and cleaning cloths.
- Organizing storage areas and maintaining an orderly environment.
- Assisting with classroom setup and end-of-day room preparation.
- Following centre cleaning schedules and Manitoba health and licensing standards.
- Reporting maintenance concerns or safety hazards to the Executive Director or designate.
- Providing classroom ratio support as required by supervising children and assisting educators with routines, transitions, indoor and outdoor play, snacks, and activities.
- Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues while supporting PNCC's inclusive, play-based, and nature-inspired philosophy.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Manitoba Child Care Assistant (CCA) classification.
- Current Emergency First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Current Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
