We are seeking a confident, energetic Child Care Assistant (CCA) to join our School Age Program. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with school-age children, and is confident leading after-school programs, including cooperative sports and group activities.
The Child Care Assistant supports educators in providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging after-school program. The successful candidate will be confident, adaptable, and able to manage transitions, group dynamics, and programming in a busy, active setting.
The person chosen for this Monday to Friday, 3 hour position will work 2:30-5:30pm (may vary slightly) with a wage of $19.40 per hour (with the 40 hr course) and 4% vacation pay.
The Ideal Candidate Is
Able to provide the following:
- CCA Certification through MB ELCC
- Current First Aid/CPR-C
- Child Abuse Registry (within 3 months)
- Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search (within 3 months)
- Commit to Kids certificates
- Accessible Customer Service certificate
- Completed 40 Hour course (within first year of employment)
Assets:
- Experience working with school age children
- Circle of Security Certificate
- Best Choices: Code of Ethics
- Flexible, able to adapt quickly to change, and possess the ability to take initiative
- Self-motivated :)
- Able to maintain positive relationships and work in partnership with children, families, and Educators
- Child care experience and a love of the outdoors!
