Full Description
Little Bo Peep is looking for a Child Care Assistant to join our wonderful team and our emergent curriculum-based preschool program. We are open year round and are located in Windsor Park, close to bus routes. We are open from 6:30am until 6:00pm Monday to Friday.
The position is for a minimum of 30hours/week with the opportunity for extra hours when required. The successful candidate must be able to work until 6:00pm.
If you are interested in applying for a substitute position, these individuals must be able to work between the hours of 6:30am and 6:00 pm on short notice to cover sick calls, staff appointments and sometimes booked in advance for vacation relief.
The Ideal Candidate Is
Eligible candidates must be caring, patient, dependable, flexible, and inclusive. The candidate must be a team player as well as be able to work independently.
They must have:
- Childcare Assistant Classification from the Province of Manitoba
- Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check (or willing to obtain)
- 40-hour course (or be willing to obtain within 6 months)
- Current First Aid/ CPR (or willing to obtain)
- At least a year's experience working with children in a child care setting
- Basic knowledge of child development
This individual must be able to work until 6 pm.
