Harstone Children’s Centre located at 905 Sargent is looking for an experienced CCA to join our school-age program for the summer. Additional hours in the fall possible for the right candidate (likely a split shift in the fall).

This Position will allow us to enhance our ratio in order to effectively meet the additional needs of a child in our care within an inclusive environment. 

Our Centre hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm and we are located on a major bus route. We are looking for someone available to work 8:30-5:30 which is an 8-hour shift with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. 

Position to begin immediately. 

Essential skills required for this position:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Punctual, flexible and reliable.

- Ability to apply appropriate guiding techniques and behavior management consistent with our policies

- Friendly and a desire to work in a team setting with the ability to work independently
 

-Experience working with children with additional support requirements such as Autism 

-Ability to meet the needs of caring for a child who is a flight risk 
 

-proficient in written and verbal English 

- Ability to adapt activities and learning materials to meet the child’s strengths, interests, and developmental needs.
