Full Description
Waverley Heights Child Care Center (WHCC) is currently seeking an outgoing, innovative and ambitious leader to take on the role of Supervisor at our Centre. This full-time, permanent position reports directly to the Centre’s Acting Director.
WHCC is a not-for-profit organization that has proudly served our community with exceptional childcare services for the last 50 years. Our Centre, located within Waverley Heights, is licensed for 40 preschool spaces and 45 spaces in our school-age program. WHCC services AA Leach, Chancellor, RHG Bonnycastle and Viscount Alexander Schools.

The Supervisor will assist the Acting Director with the daily management of the Centre, provide high quality early learning and childcare, and provide supervision and leadership for the Child Care employees as required by the Acting Director. This position is also responsible to act in the Acting Director’s absence when required.
The Ideal Candidate Is
The successful candidate will:
- Have the responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance (programing, scheduling)
- Build relationships and support the needs of the children and families.
- Build professional relationships with the staff by leading, mentoring and guiding.
- Support families when concerns arise.
- Facilitate the enrollment of new children.
- Schedule and executive monthly fire drills, natural disasters and other emergencies drills.
- Be responsible for site related administrative responsibilities. This includes helping with evaluations of staff, holiday calendars, booking field trips and buses etc.
- Informing the Acting Director when supplies are needed.
Requirements:
- Classification from the Province of Manitoba ECE 11 or 111.
- Be a member of M.C.C.A.
- Have current first aid and CPR certification.
- Have (within the last three months) or willing to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Must be a “Permanent Resident” of Manitoba
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an ECE II or III in a childcare centre.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role.
Candidate must have:
- Good comprehension of the English language with proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and a wiliness to learn and assist with new computer programs as necessary.
- Able to work collaboratively in a group setting.Has creative and problem-solving skills
- Experience with children ages 2-12 years old.
- Enjoy field trips and the outdoors.
- A can do attitude with a willingness to suggest ideas to better the daycare
