Harmony Day Care and Cuddles Infant Centre are seeking an experienced, passionate ECE III to lead our organization as Executive Director. This key leadership position is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of both centres, overseeing all administrative, financial and programming operations. Reporting directly to Harmony Day Care and Cuddles Infant Centre Board of Directors and the Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) program, the Executive Director will provide strategic direction, ensure compliance with Manitoba Early learning and Child Care regulations, and uphold the highest standards of early childhood education and care. 

About the Centres:

We are licensed to provide care for 30 preschoolers and 25 infants, supported by a dedicated team of educators, supervisors and an assistant director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and operational oversight for both Harmony Day Care and Cuddles Infant Centre.
  • Ensure full compliance with all ELCC regulations, Manitoba Child Care regulations, MCCA Code of Ethics, and centre-specific policies.
  • Supervise and support the Assistant Director, program supervisors, and all staff.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and positive work environment that supports continuous professional growth.
  • Monitor and ensure the provision of high-quality care and enriching learning environments for all children.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget; oversee financial operations, including payroll, subsidies, and government funding.
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with families and community partners.
  • Oversee program enrollment, waitlists, and child records.

The Ideal Candidate Is

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education Level III certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a supervisory or assistant director role within a licensed childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of Manitoba’s Early Learning and Child Care regulations and best practices.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative systems.
  • Valid certifications: Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and current CPR/First Aid.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Must be able to travel between both centre locations.

    • QuickBooks (financial/accounting software)
    • Payworks (payroll and HR platform)
