Little Saints Learning Centre Inc. (LSLC) is seeking an experienced ECE III to fill the position of Executive Director.
The LSLC Executive Director will report directly to the LSLC Board of Directors and the Early Learning and Child Job Summary:
Care (ELCC), Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning child care learning coordinator as assigned. This individual will have responsibility over the administrative and service delivery aspects of Little Saints programs. This position will supervise an assistant director, a site supervisor and 20+ staff currently providing care for 86 children (preschool and infant) plus a 40-space school age summer program that runs July-August. Our main sites are open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.
Salary range $35-38 per hour based on experience.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides supervision, strategic vision, leadership and support to all centre staff and supervisors to maintain efficient operations in compliance with ELCC requirements, MCCA Code of Ethics, and Little Saints Code of Conduct.
- Ensures child care centre licensing requirements are met at all times.
- Proactively seeks and completes provincial/regional grants as applicable and directed.
- Oversees the financial viability of the organization through budget management in the areas of fee collection, invoicing, purchasing, grant management, and balancing revenue and expenditures.
- Oversees planning of Little Saints School Age Summer Learning Program each summer. This includes staffing, licensing, confirming location, applying for grants, and oversight of the program.
- Manages accounts receivable and accounts payable reporting with respect to monthly cash flow ensuring fraud awareness practices are implemented at all times. This includes development and application of sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures. Manages financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in filings and reporting to ELCC and the board.
- Formulates the annual operating budget according to provincial funding guidelines to submit for Board approval and for audit.
- Oversees and manages enrollment at all LSLC sites, with support from the assistant director and site supervisor.
- Supports the Board through frequent and open communication and advises when new policies are needed or old policies need to be revisited.
- Facilitates monthly meetings, prepares reports, and implements all approved policies.
- Facilitates the recruitment, selection, hiring and orientation of all new LSLC staff in accordance with licensing requirements to meet the staffing needs of the centres. Ensures that all hiring procedures and practices are compliant with the current Government of Manitoba Labour Laws.
- Supports training and professional development of LSLC staff, including arranging Circle of Security training for new staff.
- Conducts ongoing informal and annual formal performance evaluations of centre staff and site leads.
- Ensures that all approved policies are implemented with appropriate training, monitoring and follow-up. The ED will continue to ensure LSLC policies are compliant with Child and Family Services Act; The Community Child Care Standards Act; The Human Rights Code; Criminal Code of Canada; The Regulated Health Professions Act, Public Health requirements, Workplace Safety and Health requirements, and Employment Standards.

Qualifications:
Essential
- ECE level III with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a supervisor/director
- Experience providing direct supervision to staff
- Valid Standard First Aid and Level “C” CPR.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clear criminal record check - vulnerable sector and cleared child abuse registry check at your expense
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- High degree of initiative and ability to work independently
- Experience in budget management and bookkeeping
- Experience delivering high quality programming for children and a supportive work environment for staff
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent written communication skills including report writing, grant writing, letters, and emails
- Ability to travel between both child center locations to meet operational demands as required
Assets
- LSLC is planning to expand spaces at one of its locations. Experience with capital expansions and licensing of new spaces would be considered an asset
