Full Description
The position is 8 hour's per day, Monday to Friday. In-service Days are at the 3C location and on school days 8:00-9:00 (3C) 9:00-2:30(PH4 location Pre-kinder Program) 2:30-4:30(3C).
Candidates must be available to work all shifts within centre operating hours (7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday). Staff receive a 45 minute paid break; if you are working a split shift, you will only be required to be working on the floor for 7.25 hours and paid for 8 hours. Hours are determined by the needs of the program and may change without notice.
Working with a strong team including the program Supervisor, CCA’S, Inclusion Facilitator’s, Family, Assistant Director, Circle of Security Facilitator and other behavior specialists. All involved will provide support to our School Age program.
This program consists of 40 school age 5 to 12 years old (grade 1- 6). Rainbow practices the Circle of Security philosophy and training is offered within the center. The chosen candidate must be able to offer a safe place for the children to express their feelings and emotions in a fun learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Is
ECE II (entry level) - $22.18 / ECE II with 2+ years experience- $22.85 plus years of experience New wage TBA June 30, 2025
START DATE MONDAY JUNE 16, 2025
- Provide a safe, caring and educational environment
- Provide additional support within the program to help co-regulate children with additional support needs
- Observe and anticipate children’s triggers and offer tools to help regulate (e.g. deep breathing techniques, fidget gadgets, offering safe places, sensory exploration, etc.)
- Participate in daily transportation to school and back to daycare by vehicle or walking
- Lead a Pre-kinder Program from September to June at our Phase 4 location with a team of staff
- Mentor and Support CCA's along with supporting the program, ensuring all licensing and protocol's are being met
- Take the role of the Supervisor on due to their absence
- Ability to step in and take on the responsibilities of the operation of the program along side of the Supervisor
- Build positive relationships with families
- Positive attitude with lots of energy
- Creative, outside-the-box thinking
- Familiarity with emergent curriculum/play-based approach

Familiarity with Circle of Security philosophy an asset but not required
Eligible candidates must obtain/provide:
- ECE II Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certificate Prior to start date
- Current Criminal/Child Abuse Check
- Circle of Security training (centre provided)
- Commit to Kids On Line Training prior to start date
- Class 4 drivers license an asset but not required
