Norwood Nursery School is a licensed, inclusive child care centre that provides high-quality, play-based programming to support the growth and development of children in a safe, engaging, and respectful environment. We are currently looking for a qualified and passionate ECE II to join our School Age Room team.

Position Summary:

The ECE II will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 6–12, while ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive interactions. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the school-age team to create a fun, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement age-appropriate, engaging programming based on children’s interests
• Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times
• Promote positive behavior guidance and support emotional regulation
• Establish strong relationships with children and families
• Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s development and experiences
• Maintain required documentation including attendance, planning, observations, and incident reports
• Collaborate with co-educators and management to ensure compliance with licensing standards and centre policies
• Create and maintain a clean, organized, and enriching environment
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and special events

Qualifications:

• Valid ECE II classification from the Province of Manitoba
• Current First Aid & CPR (Level C) certification
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Clear Child Abuse Registry Check
• Experience working in a school-age program is an asset
• Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently with minimal supervision
• Compassionate, enthusiastic, and committed to child-centred learning
