Full Description
Applicants must have excellent communication skills, strong understanding of child development, the ability to be a great team member, and be able to reflect our beliefs and values. Our beautiful centre is in the heart of the North End at 527 Selkirk Ave. where we support our community members while they attend educational institutes in the North End.
We are hiring two ECE positions, which are both full time and permanent. We offer a competitive salary with Makoonsag’s Salary Scale which is inline with MCCA’s Salary Scale, an excellent benefits package and paid professional development.

The Ideal Candidate Is
- ECE II/III classification from the Province of Manitoba
- Current First Aid with CPR
- Ability to provide a clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Experience working in a holistic, culturally-based early childhood educational setting
- Skills to demonstrate competency in areas of safety and health, the creation of a creative, stimulating and culturally relevant learning environment for infant and preschool children, and professionalism
- Knowledge and practice of Indigenous cultural approaches to early childhood education or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of ELCC licensing requirements
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work closely & respectfully with Traditional Elders, Kookums, and Knowledge Keepers
- Trained in Circle of Security would be an asset
