Full Description
Victor Play Centre Inc is seeking a vibrant, conscientious individual to fill the full-time position of Executive Director.
Incorporated in 1974 and located in the west end of Winnipeg, the centre is licensed for 33 preschool & 13 school age children. With its location in a 3 story house, the centre projects a comfortable family-style setting which creates a more home like environment for the children. Our priority is to ensure that we meet every child’s individual needs, providing a safe, secure and loving environment for them to learn and grow. Victor Play Centre is a reflection of the community around it and values the diversity of it's staff and all participants.
The Executive Director must be an Early Childhood Educator lll with some prior experience and knowledge operating a child care centre. They will be responsible for ensuring an organized, purposeful program within a safe and healthy environment. The program must include a well planned and implemented curriculum which meets the needs of children & their families, and complies with all relevant government regulations. They will offer support, guidance and flexibility to the Early Childhood Educators in their development of the daily routines, experiences and learning activities provided for the children. With the responsibility of overseeing the daily operation of the program, the Executive Director will ensure that the centre is in compliance with all licensing regulations as well as managing the centres finances within established policies.
Salary will be based on Experience and Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate Is
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
*Overseeing all staff members
*Provide on-the-job training for employees and volunteers.
*Ensure an organized, quality program.
*Purchase supplies & equipment as needed.
*Prepare & monitor annual budget.
*Maintain complete, accurate and continuous records of all financial transaction
*Monthly tracking & reporting of expenditures
*Arrange yearly audit and forward documents as needed.
*After hour staff meetings and monthly Board Meetings.
*Prepare monthly financial statements for the Board of Directors.
*Maintain professional relationships with community partners.
*Prepared to respond to emergency situations.
*Willing to work the hours necessary to ensure the effective operation of the centre
Qualifications:
* Early Childhood Educator lll classification as issued by the Province of Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care.
*Minimum 5 years experience working in a child care setting in Manitoba.
*Minimum 2 years directly related experience in a Director or Supervisory role.
*Financial knowledge with accounting skills.
*High energy level with strong morals & work ethic.
*Self-motivated and able to work autonomously and also as part of a team.
*Organized and able to manage short term and long term plans.
*Knowledgeable and sensitive toward issues concerning diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds.
*Knowledge of children's development & the ability to develop, plan & implement appropriate curriculum.
*Knowledgeable of licensing regulations & Best Practises
*Knowledgeable with the use of various technologies; especially Word, Excel, Quickbooks and Lilio (HiMama).
Required:
*Current CPR/First Aid (level C) certificate
