St Norbert Children's Centre is licensed for 15 infant, 48 preschool and 21 school age children. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director to join our team.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for supporting the Executive Director to oversee the daily operations of the Centre, lead a team Early Childhood Educators and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care. The ideal candidate must have an extensive background in Early Childhood Education, excellent leadership skills, and an energy for providing exceptional care and education to children.
Education & Experience required:
- ECE II or III classification, as recognized by Manitoba Education & Early Childhood Learning. If applying as an ECE II, must be working towards completion of ECE III classification.
- First Aid & CPR Basic Level C, Accessibility training and Commit to Kids training
- Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience in a child care setting. Assistant Director experience is an asset.
- In depth knowledge of the principles of early childhood development and learning
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations, building relationships with all stake holders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong overall computer skills (childcare management software, excel, social media)

The Ideal Candidate Is
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Director to oversee daily operations of the Centre, ensuring regulatory compliance at all times
- Supervise, support and mentor team members and floor educators, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Conduct regular observations and assessments of educator performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed
- Assist with recruitment and training of new employees
- Assist with administrative tasks including preparing for annual licensing, planning meetings, waitlist maintenance, purchase of supplies and equipment, management of new family registrations, management of Inclusion Support Program, and management of children's records
- Maintain professionalism at all times
