Key responsibilities include covering any shift throughout the day for staff in their absence in whichever program is needed. Also planning developmentally appropriate activities, fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders, confidence, room awareness, group control, and interest in working in a team-based environment. Flexibility and time management skills are an asset.

Qualifications include:

• 40-hour course
• Classified with ELCC as a Child Care Assistant
• Current first aid and CPR
• Clear child abuse and criminal record checks (reimbursed after probation)
• Commit 2 Kids certificates
• Must be available any hours asked by leadership
• Working conditions include standing, bending, lifting materials, long periods of concentration, and year-round indoor and outdoor working conditions.
