Discovery Children’s Centre is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and teachable Child Care Assistant to join our team for an evening shift from 3:00-9:00 pm Monday to Friday.
At Discovery, we are committed to fostering meaningful inclusion and connecting children with nature in all aspects of our programming.
Position Details:
- Hourly Wage: Starting at $19.40

The Ideal Candidate Is
Eligible Candidates: Successful candidate must have the following:
- Must have at least 1 year experience working in a childcare environment. Must have experience working with children on your own.
•Current First/Aid/CPR
•A clear Child Abuse and Criminal Record Check (with vulnerable sector)
- 40 hour Child Development Course (would be an asset)
- Commit to Kids certificate (would be an asset)
- Accessible Customer Service certificate (would be an asset)
•Strong English and communication skills
•Positive behavior management skills
•Must be reliable and work well in a team environment
•Must be flexible, able to adapt quickly to change, and possess the ability to take initiative.
•Will be able and willing to work with all children ages 2-12 years in an inclusive setting.
•Will be able to lift weights between 20 – 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday from 3:00-9:00 pm
- Must enjoy being outdoors for long periods of time
