Dante Day Nursery Inc. is seeking a compassionate, dedicated Child Care Assistant to join our preschool program in a term position focused on inclusion support. This position will be offered for the duration that the supported child is enrolled in our program, through 2026 with the possibility of becoming a full-time position or extension of the term.

We are located next door to Earl Grey School, conveniently on major transit routes or if needed, parking nearby. Our licensed, not-for-profit Centre provides care for 48 children, ages 18 months to six years. We offer a play-based, mixed-age learning environment that supports the individual needs of every child.

  • Assist in planning and implementing daily activities for preschool
  • Provide additional support within the program to help co-regulate children with additional support needs
  • Ensure the safety and well being of all children at all times
  • Implement and complete daily routines and transitions
  • Provide compassionate attentive care to children
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes learning and development
  • Communicate effectively with parents and co-workers
  • Be a supportive team member who is able to collaborate and work with other team members to achieve program goals

The Ideal Candidate Is

The Ideal Candidate Is

  • 18 years of age or older with experience working in a child care facility
  • Possess a clear and current Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Hold a valid First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Classified in the Province of Manitoba as a CCA (Child Care Assistant)
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada
  • Demonstrate a strong professional work ethic with punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to take initiative as well as follow direction
  • Dependable, flexible, and responsible
  • Work well as a collaborative team member
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be warm, nurturing, and fun
  • Have a love of the outdoors

The ideal candidate will work with a strong team including the program Supervisor, co-workers, families and any outside resources that come in to provide a safe, caring and educational environment.
