Whiteshell Daycare Co-op, located in the boreal forest of the Whiteshell Provincial Park about 160km/1.5 hour drive from Winnipeg, has a projected opening date of January 2027 and is currently recruiting educators - ECE III/ECE II/CCA.  The program is starting as a small 16-20 space preschool centre with plans for growth. As the first childcare program serving families in the community, we are looking forward to creating a welcoming, community-focused space where children can learn, explore, and grow through meaningful outdoor and play-based experiences.

The centre will care for children 2 to 6 years of age and will emphasize outdoor and land based learning, creativity, exploration, and child-led experiences. With nature at our doorstep, educators will have the opportunity to incorporate the outdoors into daily learning and play. The Whiteshell Daycare Co-op values strong community connections and is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. While the childcare centre is hosted within West Hawk United Church, the centre itself is non-denominational and welcomes families of all backgrounds. The child care program will serve communities from west of Falcon Lake to Hadashville and the South Whiteshell areas.
