Child Care Assistant

SJMS is currently seeking a strong CCA to fill a term position, which may lead to further employment! We are celebrating our 53rd year as a licensed nonprofit nursery school. Our mission is to provide high quality Montessori/DAP-guided education to families of all socio-economic backgrounds. We accept government funding, follow the ELCC daily fees guidelines, and welcome subsidy and inclusion support. We have merged the Montessori Method with the DAP for the Preschool Child into a fun and hands-on program where children grow at their own pace!

We are currently interviewing for the position of Term CCA to cover a maternity leave. Position start date TBD in conjunction with successful candidate, but ideally as soon as possible. This position is full time, 40 hours a week, with bi-monthly pay periods (15th and last day of the month).

Must have:

• At least one year experience working in a licensed early learning and child care program
• Experience with children ages 2-6
• Possess clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check including Vulnerable Sector
• Possess strong interpersonal skills, including communication with fellow educators, families and the community
• Be willing to be coached and mentored, and to coach and mentor others
• Montessori training/experience is an asset but not required
