Child Care Assistant

St. Germain Daycare Centre is looking to hire a child care assistant to work Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7-10.  The probability of additional hours is high, dependent on the individuals availability.

The child care assistant will assist other staff with opening of the centre. Greeting children and families as they arrive and assist children as they say bye to parents and begin their day at daycare.  This could be with preschool and school age children.

The staff may at times assist the Kindergarten and School age children transition from daycare to school at 8:30am. This may include outdoor supervision.

Additional duties may include diaper changes, light housekeeping, assisting with snack and record keeping.

The child care assistant will have

• Child Care Assistant Certificate
• Current First Aid/CPR (or willing to get asap)
• Child Abuse/Criminal Records Check (current or will update)
• Have taken the 40 hour intro to child care course or have a psychology/sociology course from University or College.

Candidates who have all the above will be paid $17.73 per hour.  Those candidates who have not yet completed all the above will be paid $16.10 until such time as they have completed all the above.

This position is to begin September 4, 2024.
