responsible, energetic, dedicated CCA needed for school age program!

Child Care Assistant

This job is a full time position. Hours are a split shift and will be 7am-9am AND 1150-6pm Monday to Friday. Shifts will be changed to straight 8 hour shifts when there are inservice days and full days during summer, xmas break, spring break etc when there is no school.

Your responsibilities will include, planning and implementing curriculum activities in all domain areas (social, physical and cognitive). You will plan with your peer staff in the room(s) you are working in. Primarily you will be in one room but you may be shifted around from time to time as needed. You will go on all outings with the group you are with , work closley with the director to ensure programming is adequate. You will be responsible for doing your share of housekeeping duties like occasional dishes, snack prep, clean and wash floors and toys etc. You will need to be able to implement behaviors management strategies that are age appropriate and acceptable.

This position will come with a mandatory benefit enrollment after the probation period, as well as pension enrollment. You will be entitled to 2 weeks holidays upon completion of your 1st year.

Salary will be discussed upon qualifications. Candidates witha 40 hour course already done will make a considerable amount more than someone with out one as set out by the government.

The eligible candidate will be as follows;

• has obtained a criminal record check with vulnerable sector search completed with in the last 6 months (has original copy)
• has obtained a Manitoba child abuse registry check with in the past 6 months and has original copy
• has first aid cpr level C certification
• having the mandatory 40 hour course completed with Red River College (or similar institution that offers it) is an asset
• someone reliable, dedicated, cooperative, and independent is an absolute must!
• must speak English very well
• able to plan activities for school age children and input behaviour management strategies that are age appropriate is a must.
