Pacific Junction Daycare Incorporated (est. 1987) is a 38-space infant to pre-school centre located at Pacific Junction School, within the heart of Charleswood. Our mission is to provide children in our community a safe and fun learning environment, with a focus on development through relationships and programming.

Our Centre is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, creative, and professional individual with strong leadership and facilitation skills to fill the role of Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will:

–          Oversee operational planning and management of the Centre

–          Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of children and staff at our Centre

–          Develop and implement policies and plans, supporting the Board’s strategic direction

–          Communicate and represent the Centre with families, regulators, government, funders/donors, and peers within the childcare sector

Salary(s):   $52,000.00 - $65,000.00+ annually

Qualifications:

•        Early Childhood Educator III with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a licensed childcare setting.

•        In-depth knowledge of early childhood development and learning, with experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programming.

•        Strong leadership skills, with the ability to support and motivate staff.

•        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a variety of audiences, including children, staff, families, peers, and government bodies.

•        Highly organized with an ability to prioritize work in a stressful environment.

•        Excellent knowledge of relevant government regulations.

•        Proficient with MS Office applications, accounting software and payroll services.

•        Additional courses or experience in managing finances, preparing budgets and reports, grant writing, website development, or human resources are an asset.

•        Must produce a satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, and Child Abuse Registry Check.

•        Must have valid certification in Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR.

•        Must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle and ability to travel on daycare business within the City of Winnipeg.

•        Must be available to work outside of regular business hours to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
