Niigaanaki Daycare Centre Inc.
The Assistant Director will provide support to the Executive Director in regards to administrative duties, staff supervision and overseeing day to day operation of the Centre.
Responsibilities also include managing the Centre in the absence of the Director. The Assistant Director will ensure quality care for all the children in the Centre are maintained, in accordance with Best Practices Licensing Manual for Early Learning and Child Care Centres. The Assistant Director is a member of the Management Team and reports to the Executive Director.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
*Ensures and facilitates the smooth functioning of all aspects of the child care centre in order to best serve children and families.
*Provides supervision, leadership and support to all centre staff.
*Assists with the facilitation and recruitment of new staff.
*Ensures licensing requirements are met at all times.
*Assists with answering the phone and monitoring controlled visitor access.
*Works closely with the centre’s Executive Director and Floor Supervisor.
*Supports and provides guidance to staff in an effort to evolve and consistently be improving our curriculum for the children in our care.
*Develops and maintains positive relationships and regular communication with parent-clients.
*Assists in identifying training needs of staff in the Centre.
*Is an active, contributing member of the management team.
*Manages the Centre in the absence of the Director.
*Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Executive Director
Our current wage scale for this position is in concert with new recommendations set by ELCC in 2022.
ECE II or ECE III or ECE III in Training
Valid First Aid & CPR
Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry
Knowledge of; WORD and EXCEL programs.
Experience with Fastoche is an asset
Accounting experience is an asset.
Knowledge of Quick Books Online is needed.
Familiar with emergent curriculum and Best Practices Licensing Manual for Early Learning and Child Care Centres.
Experience and understanding of the Reggio Emilia Approach.
Must have great interpersonal skills, a high degree of initiative and dedication, commitment to high-quality programming for children and a supportive work environment for staff.
Must have an early learning philosophy that matches the Centre's goals.
Experience working in the inner city will be of great advantage.
