Position Summary
The Child Care Assistant (CCA), as part of a team of Early Childhood Educators and CCAs, delivers child-specific, age appropriate programming to all children in the program in accordance with child development principles. The CCA implement plans and provides programming designed to meet each child’s assessed needs in a manner that promotes positive social, physical, emotional and cognitive development. The CCA maintains a clean and safe environment that encourages healthy interaction and learning. Critical Skills Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Focus on Results Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus work-related activities to effectively and efficiently achieve service goals and produce expected results/outcomes
Alignment with Organizational Values Commitment to the principles that guide Mount Carmel Clinic, as reflected in the history, vision, mission and values
Commitment to Reconciliation Knowledge and historical factors that affect the health and well-being of Indigenous individuals and families
Teamwork Proven ability to work within a team environment with respect, professionalism, cooperation, sensitivity and cultural awareness
MCC Philosophies Strong knowledge of diversity, equity, cultural safety, pro-choice, social determinants of health, population health, harm reduction, trauma-informed and community development approaches
Communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in the use of computer systems
Assets Experience working with/caring for young children
