La Salle Kidz Inc. is looking for a knowledgeable and experienced ECE II/III to join our team at the Beaudry Site (next to La Salle School).  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Beaudry site (licensed for 40 children), and will have both administrative duties as well as leadership duties on the floor.

Duties will include:

-Ensure ELCC (Early Learning and Child Care) regulations and Best Practices are adhered to by all staff, at all times

-Ensure that the centre’s policies, procedures, and Curriculum Statements are fully understood by all staff, and are adhered to at all times

-Assist with staff orientation, performance management, program development, and performance evaluations for staff, volunteers and practicum students, as directed

-Provide leadership, supervision and direction to all staff and volunteers, including but not limited to, direct, on-the-floor support and mentorship

-Actively develop relationships with children,, families, coworkers, and ELCC personnel (ie: Child Care Coordinator)

-Maintain effective external partnerships (e.g. Local community associations, inspectors, and/or school divisions) that are relevant to the child care program that are positive, collaborative, and supportive in nature.

-Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate changes to program delivery

– Provide opportunities for team-based professional learning, focusing on the needs of the staff group and the children.  This can be done in the form of a team newsletter, article review, staff meetings, small group meetings, or one-on-one training opportunities.

-Attend meetings and professional development opportunities, and share knowledge with the staff team in meaningful, concise ways

-Chair program and/or site meetings in conjunction with the Executive Director

-Observe, document, and reflect upon the skills of the staff team to determine how to support and motivate each individual staff member as part of a dynamic and unique team

-Coordinate program functions to ensure ongoing planning, program development, training, and program implementation.

-Collect and input necessary information for reporting purposes (children’s vitals, allergy/medication postings, URIS plans, bulletin boards & staff profiles, spirit week/summer calendars)

-Research, contact, and book special events, visitors, and field trips, upon approval of the Executive Director

-Create weekly and daily schedule, including break coverage & planning coverage

-Conduct monthly evacuation drills in accordance with the centre’s Enhanced Safety Plan.

-Ensure daily safety checklists are completed and ensure monthly and annual safety checks are conducted in accordance with the centre’s Enhanced Safety Plan.

-Manage attendance records weekly -Input facility reporting through Child Care Online after each 4 week billing period

-Track ISP plans, including managing visits with professionals and meetings with families

-Introduce new families to the centre by bringing them on a tour through the site and answering any relevant questions -Manage the site’s Instagram page, including posts, followers, and page security

– Submit quarterly supplies orders for art and office supplies

-Assigned designate in the absence of the Executive Director (back-up for functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable)

Eligible Candidates

-ECE II/III with at least 2-3 years experience in the field (experience as a part of a management team is considered an asset)

-Valid First Aid & CPR Level C

-Clear criminal record & Child Abuse Check

-Must have excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to lead a team of 12-14 staff

-Must have strong behaviour management skills

-Must be willing to lead by example and act as a mentor for all staff

-Must be flexible & willing to work as a part of a dynamic team
