Harstone Children’s Centre, a dynamic and fast-growing organization with 6 locations, is seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our school-age team as a room leader at our 905 Sargent location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare, excellent leadership skills, and a genuine love for working with children. As a Room Lead, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and stimulating environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth among school-age children.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership: Plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate activities and programs for school-age children that promote learning, creativity, and teamwork.
Guidance: Provide strong leadership by guiding school-age children and staff, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in all activities.
Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with Site Director and parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress, activities, and achievements, in addition to maintaining communication between preschool and school-age programs.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members in both preschool and school-age programs to create a cohesive and positive working environment, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all daycare regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and clean environment for children.
Facility Oversight: Take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming physical environment for children, staff, and parents. Regularly maintain, inspect and report any issues related to safety, cleanliness, or repairs needed within the facility in collaboration with Site Director and external professionals. Eligible Candidates

Requirements:
- Clear current Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry Check
- ECE II Certification
- First aid/CPR training level C
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a team
- Reliable and dedicated
- Ability to work from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including walking, lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing and pulling.
