Child Care Assistant

Discovery Children’s Centre is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, teachable Child Care Assistant to join our infant/toddler team. Discovery recognizes the importance of connecting children with nature and the meaningful inclusion of all children. Since Discovery believes gender balance is good for young children, we encourage males to apply.

We are looking for a full time Childcare Assistant.

Full time permanent position.
Monday to Friday(Hours of operation 7 am-6pm)
* Salary starts at $13.25- $16.05(40 hour course=Start $16.05)
* 37.5 hour work week
* Health benefits

* 4% Pension
* 2 weeks holidays first year, 3 weeks second year
* 10 sick days
* Bonus days

Eligible candidates must have;
•Current First/Aid/CPR
•A clear Child Abuse and Criminal Record Check (with vulnerable sector)
•40 hour Child Development Course (would be an asset)
•Strong English and communication skills
•Positive behavior guidance techniques
•Must work well in a team environment

•Must be flexible, able to adapt quickly to change, and possess the ability to take initiative.
•Will be able and willing to work with infant and toddlers in an inclusive setting.
•Will be able to lift weights between 20 – 50 lbs.
