Dawn and Dusk Before and After School Program is a 100-space licenced childcare centre located in John De Graff School in North Kildonan.


We are seeking an energetic and passionate ECE who enjoys the outdoors to join Dawn and Dusk as Team Leader for a term position from November 1, 2022 until December 31, 2023.


There is an option to join our team earlier (ASAP) as an ECE for 40 hrs per week.


Key responsibilities of the Team Leader include:

-supervising educators in the daily program

-providing guidance to educators in conflict resolution, and positive guidance

-conducting team meetings

-building and maintaining relationships with our families, the school, professionals and community members

-maintaining a high level of professionalism, including upholding confidentiality

-participating in professional development to keep current in the field of Early Learning and Child Care

-providing a nurturing and inclusive environment



The Team Leader will work a split shift, working 7.5 hrs per day, plus be paid for .5 hr split shift incentive premium, for a total of 8 hours paid.


The shift will be 7:30am –11:30am and 2:30 – 6:00pm, M-F. There is some flexibility within this shift for the break time.

The salary range for this position is $23.32 – 25.90/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Eligible Candidates

Eligible candidates will:

-have a Province of Manitoba ECE II or III Certificate

-have current Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry checks

-have a current First Aid and CPR Certificate

-have supervisory experience in the Early Learning and Child Care field with preference given to a school age setting

-have Knowledge of ELCC Regulations

-have knowledge of current practices and trends in Early Learning and Child Care

-have proven leadership abilities and conflict resolution skills

-have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to conduct difficult conversations

-have strong behaviour management skills

-have the ability to complete written documentation for parents and professionals

-have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines

-have strong time management skills

-have working knowledge of computer systems

-have the ability to show initiative

-have a team-oriented attitude

-be able to able to work in a fast-paced environment

-have the ability to mentor a large, diverse team

-be flexible
-have a love of the outdoors
-be creative and able to “think outside of the box”
-be passionate about the childcare field

-have Circle of Security and Commit to Kids training (or willing to obtain)

-have extensive knowledge and experience in emergent curriculum
