Fort Garry Child Care Co-op is seeking an Executive Director to join their well-established centre. The Early Childhood Executive Director (ED) will oversee the management and development of programs and services designed to meet the needs of families with young children, from two until twelve years of age. They will provide leadership and work collaboratively with a dynamic team involved in a range of projects and programs. The ED will facilitate programs and work collaboratively with parents. They will ensure the organization’s activities and programs are provided in a safe manner that follows current best practices and is inclusive to all. They will work as part of a management team while acting in accordance with policies and strategies put forth by the Board of Directors.

Key responsibilities:
•Program Design and Development.
• Prepare funding/grant application proposals annually.
• Community Outreach; Maintain professional and mutually beneficial working relationships with community partners.
• Administration of budgeting; developing, monitoring, reporting, and maintenance.
• Renewal of all necessary policy documentation to ensure compliance with modern provincial, federal, safety, and legal guidelines.
• Coach and mentor junior and intermediate staff concerning their career growth and professional development.
• Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and training decisions.
• Lead meetings: monthly staff meetings, monthly board meetings, other events as scheduled.

About Fort Gary Child Care…

Fort Garry Child Care Centre Co-op (FGCCC) is a non-profit childcare centre that has serviced the local community since 1974. We are located within the Pembina Trails School Divisions with four locations. Our facility has a licensed capacity of 167 children ranging from 2 to 12 years of age and operates both a full-day preschool program, a before-and-after school programming, kinder program, and full-day programming on all non-school days
We are a volunteer Board of Directors formed by the parents of children at the centre. Hiring a great Executive Director is key to the success of the centre. The Executive Director will be the north star of the organization, keeping the centre running smoothly, and ensuring excellent childcare is provided for the community’s children.

Eligible Candidates

You and your Experience:
• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (Level III) from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience working in the childcare industry.
• Minimum 4 years’ related supervisory experience with knowledge and experience operating a childcare and/or Human Resource management and training.
• Executive Director experience preferred, but not required.
• Education and Training in Leadership and Administration.
• Experience in communityorganizational development with managerial experience.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously and as part of a collegial team.
• Excellent knowledge in program planning and implementation.
• Excellent personnel management skills and experience.
• Conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent knowledge and sensitivity towards issues concerning diverse ethnocultural backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
